Where the Name Comes From

Vaughn Co was registered in 2009 by two siblings who grew up on Constanța's northern side and wanted to build something that outlasted a single contract. The name is intentionally simple — a family surname followed by “Co” — because that is exactly what this is: a family, and its collaborators. In the early years the team was four people and a rented van. Today the team is larger, the van is newer, and we have added a second vehicle, but the decision-making still happens around the same kitchen table. No board meetings, no quarterly reviews by people who have never visited a client's home. Just a family that has learned — slowly, by doing — how to run a small service business well.

The Midnight-Coral Palette and What It Represents

When we rebranded in 2015, we spent more time than we probably should have discussing colour. The midnight-coral combination we settled on was not chosen from a stock palette — it came from a conversation about what Vaughn Co actually felt like to work with. Midnight for the reliability we had built over six years; coral for the warmth of a family-run operation that remembers your name between visits. Those two qualities are harder to fake than a slick logo, and we have tried to earn them every year since. If you see our deep midnight-coral van outside a building in Constanța, you are watching a set of values in motion, not just a service vehicle.

What We Have Built Over Fifteen Years

A Stable, Experienced Team

Our longest-serving colleague joined in 2011. The average tenure across the team is over seven years. In a sector where high turnover is common, this stability means clients deal with people who know their trade thoroughly and have genuinely invested in the company's reputation.

15+ Years of Local Referrals

More than 60 per cent of new enquiries at Vaughn Co arrive through word of mouth — a neighbour's recommendation, a landlord telling another landlord, a satisfied tenant passing on the number. We consider this the most honest measure of how the work has landed.

A Written Code of Conduct

Since 2013 we have maintained a short internal code of conduct — one page — that every new team member reads and discusses before their first job. It covers punctuality, communication, workspace tidiness, and how to handle a complaint. It is not a legal document; it is a statement of intent, reviewed every year.

Community Involvement

Each year we set aside time and materials for a small number of pro-bono jobs — typically for elderly residents or community spaces in Constanța's older districts. This is not a marketing initiative; we do not publicise individual cases. It is simply the practice of being a neighbour as well as a business.
